Doodle Advertising: Seb Jarnot

Hi Everyone!:)

As you can see, today I'm doing research about famous French illustrator Seb Jarnot. The man was working together with brands like L'oreal or Nike . I've researched him because his adverts are very simple but stunning in the same time.

Seb Jarnot illustration style has the perfect combination of minimalism and simplicity in form mixed with an abundance of complexity in meaning. There are all kinds of narratives and emotions that seem to pour out of each drawing. I'm guessing this guy has a lot on his mind! You can sense a little heartbreak and inner turmoil in his work...

His work has so much depth and beauty. I discovered him though Hand to Eye which is full of cool illustrators. I'm still pretty new in developing my own illustration style and this book has been instrumental providing inspiration!

And look at these espadrilles with Jarnot's illustrations. They aren't for SALE!

He also has a book called Seb Jarnot, 3x7=15. Either he wasn't very good in the math department, or I'm guessing that's full of mystery meaning too. Anyway, I'll soon find out since I just purchased it. I think what if this "Kim" has anything to do with the heartbreak theme in his works.

They are so contrastful and when you see then in media they work even better. I love how they become these lively spots in newspapers when well integrated
